Dating and Hanging out. What's the difference?

Have you ever asked yourself what the difference is between dating and hanging out is? Well in today's blog we are discussing just that, we are going to define both hanging out and dating, we will talk about how each one has changed over time. Let's start with defining dating.

So, what is dating? Dating is a stage of romance in which two individuals engage in an activity together and they both have romantic feeling towards one another. Have you ever wondering how dating has changed over the years? back then dating was built on communication, interaction, sense of humor, and meeting someone in a more natural way.

Over time dating has changed and it is not exactly what it used to be. In the society today dating relies on technology and social media, if you think about it people look on social media and think they have an idea what dating really is or dating really looks like. People also tend to rely on dating apps such as tender and what not to meet someone instead of meeting someone in amore natural way like way back then. technology has also changed the way people communicate with one another, as I had mentioned before dating used to be built on interaction as in talking and communicating face-to-face but that has all changed because of technology.

Today almost everyone rather they want to admit it or not tend to spend half if not the whole time on their phones while out on a date. It is a sad thing to think about only because some people tend to think that by communicating through social media like Facebook, Snapchat, and/or Instagram is the way to create that bond when really it is having that face-to-face conversations that tend to be the best if not better way to create that bond.

It is interesting to see how both men and women when asked to date they both have the same idea of where they want things to lead, they both tend to have the same mindset, and they both know what it is they want with no hesitation what so whatever.

Now that we have talked and discussed what dating is, how it has changed let’s change the topic and talk about hanging out. So, what is hanging out? Hanging out is spending time within a place with a group of people and having fun not having a set time of when to meet or when to leave. But the meaning through out time has changed.

The meaning of hanging out has to changed over time when you think about it back then hanging out meant a group of teens going out as friends and having fun but in the world today hanging out can mean a more casual version of dating, meaning that you spend time with someone that you find attractive and/or are attracted to but don’t necessarily see as a potential partner to start a relationship with. Hanging out now is more of a fun and hook up no strings attached. It is a sad thing to see because with that leads to other things that don’t lead to happiness, because the meaning of such words have changed.

I think it is funny how females and males have different interpretations of what it means to hang out. I talked to few people, and they all seem to have the same idea of what it meant to hang out and it went to show that hanging out had indeed changed and not in a good way. Both groups answered that hanging out means having an intimate moment or hook up and that being all that it is.

As we know hanging out and dating are two very different things, we know dating implies one-on-one time and is more of a romantic sense whereas hanging out is a group and more of casual relationship so more on the friendly side or at least that what it used to mean but with society changing and coming up with some pretty crazy things you just don’t really know what to expect.
